Ralph W. Mead, 78 of Valley Health Services, passed away on Saturday March 18, 2006 at St. Elizabeth?s Medical Center, Utica, NY. He was born October 11, 1927 in Fairfield, NY the son of the late Frank & Gladys (Franklin) Mead, and was educated in Van Hornesville schools. He was married to the former Madaline Smith on September 19, 1963. Mr. Mead was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on January 4, 1946 and was honorably discharged on April 25, 1946 with the rank of Private. Ralph was last employed at Valley Window Cleaning Company of Herkimer. Survivors include his wife Madaline of Mohawk, a daughter Jolene Baker and husband Robert of Cedarville, 3 sisters, Nellie Smith of Herkimer, Doris Brown and husband Bob of Little Falls, and Hazel Rockefeller of Glens Falls, 3 grandchildren, Nicole (Nikki), Sheila & Robert (Bobby), and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Sheila Guyer and her Husband Clarence, 5 brothers, John, Earl, Franklin, Cal & Joe Mead, and a sister, Shirley Leavenworth. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 22, 2006 at 1:00 pm from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY. Burial will be in North Columbia Cemetery later in the spring. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services.
