Obituary of Marian Mikus

Mrs. Marian M. (Oldick) Mikus, 75, of Glenn Ave., Little Falls, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday morning, Nov. 17, 2006. She was born on March 26, 1931, in Fort Plain, daughter of the late Harland and Nancy (Grainer) Oldick and was educated in Fort Plain schools. On October 4, 1968, she was joined in marriage with Edwin A. Mikus in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Plain. Mr. Mikus passed away on February 18, 1996. Marian was last employed as the office manger with Courier Standard Enterprises, Fort Plain. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Marian was very active with the Polish Club in Little Falls. She enjoyed traveling and spending summers at sixth lake. Above all, Marian possessed a generous nature, one which prompted her to be unselfish and giving in her relationships with others. She cherished the time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. Survivors include her beloved family; her brothers and sisters: Ramon Oldick of Fort Plain, Betty Steele of Little Falls, Donald Oldick and wife Delight of Little Falls, Jane Lasher and husband Richard of St. Johnsville, William Oldick and wife Rose of Palatine Bridge, Lucille Oldick of Herkimer, Ralph Oldick of Fort Plain, and Denise Oldick of St. Johnsville; many adored nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. Marian's funeral will commence at 10 am on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, officiating. Procession will follow to Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Cemetery where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.
