Obituary of Ronald Monk

Ronald G. Monk, 56, of 7235 State Highway 29, Dolgeville passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday evening, June 14, 2006 with his loving wife by his side. He was born on December 1, 1949 in Gloversville, NY, a son of Doris (Blanche) Monk and the late Milburn Monk. He was a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School, class of 1968. On August 7, 1971, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Bonnie J. Antonucci. They shared a blessed union of 34 years. Their marriage was founded on love and dedication to one another. They provided a supportive and steadfast bond that was the foundation of their home and in the raising of their family, which was of the most importance to Ronnie and Bonnie. Ronnie was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation as a Supervising Equipment Operator Instructor, until his retirement in 2003. He was of the Methodist faith.Ronnie was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time at his camp, cutting wood and always took pride in the care of his home. Ronnie was characterized by his humor and always had a funny comment that would put a smile on anyone's face. Ronnie's most precious moments were those spent in the company of his family and his "girls". His wife and three daughters were the center of his universe. Several years ago, his family expanded with the addition of a granddaughter, Taylor, and a grandson, Joshua. Ronnie was blessed to learn that another grandchild would be brought into the family at Christmas time. Ronnie loved his family and cherished each moment spent with them. He will be missed by all that know him. Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Bonnie; his three loving daughters, Jennifer Lee and her husband David Lee, of Gloversville, NY, Sara Martyniuk and her husband Shannon Martyniuk of Salisbury, MD, and Victoria Monk, at home, and her companion Robert Sylvester, in Iraq; two special grandchildren Taylor and Joshua Lee; his mother, Blanche Monk of Scotch Bush; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frederick and Virginia Antonucci of Dolgeville; two sisters, Marcia Miller of Scotch Bush and Donna O'Rourke of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; two brothers, Dennis Monk of Johnstown, NY and Jerome Monk of Tallahassee, FL; a sister-in-law, Carol Spicer and her husband Daniel of Oswego, NY; a brother-in-law, Rick Antonucci and his fianc?e, Nancy Clark of Fulton, NY; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Roberts and Enea Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave, Dolgeville, from 5-8pm. Funeral Services will commence on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Pastor emeritus Rev. Daniel Parisi, officiating. The family would like to thank the Oppenheim Volunteer Fire Department, Fulton County Ambulance and Little Falls Hospital for the care and compassion that was shown to Ronnie and his family during this time.
