Obituary of Harold Montana

Mr. Harold A. Montana 83 of 4 Lamberson Street Dolgeville, died Tuesday July 18, 2006 in St. Elizabeth? Hospital, Utica after a brief illness. He was born on June 2, 1923 in the Town of Manheim the son of the late Clarence M. and Mary (Timmerman) Montana and was a graduate of Dolgeville schools. Harold was self employed for many years, operating a dairy farm along with being a contact school bus owner/operator for the Little Falls School district from 1952 -73. He also was employed by the Kozoil Construction Company of Little Falls, retiring from there several years ago. Many will remember Harold as having his own dance band along with playing trumpet in several area bands for many years. He was a member of the Musician?s Union, also a founder of a Beagle Club in the Town of Ohio and he enjoyed fishing and hunting especially at ?Red Camp? where he holds the record for the largest deer taken. He is survived by his sons and their wives Alvin and Robin Montana of Little Falls, Ronald and Kathryn Montana of South Carolina and a Daughter and her husband Coralu Jane Showalter and Ted Showalter of Canastota, his Companion Flossie of 40 years, 14 Grandchildren 3 Great Grandchildren, a nephew Thomas Montana of Little Falls. He was predeceased by a son David Montana in 2003 and a brother Corliss Montana in July 202. Funeral services will be held Friday July 21, 2006 at 11 AM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville, with Pastor Gertrude Ortlieb of the Inghams Mills American Baptist Church Officiating. Burial will follow in Rural Park cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8 PM. Memorials may be made to the American cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
