Obituary of Mary Moynihan

Mary (Flynn) Moynihan, 95, of 83 Burwell St., a lifelong Little Falls resident, entered into eternal rest on Thursday afternoon, January 26, 2006 in Folts Homes, Herkimer. She was born in Little Falls on June 26, 1910, the daughter of the late John M. and Mary L. (Fitzgerald) Flynn and graduated from the Little Falls High School, "Class of 1927" and furthered her education by attending Excelsior Business School in Utica. Her marriage to Bernard J. Moynihan, Sr., took place on August 19, 1931 in St. Mary's Church, Little Falls. The couple enjoyed a blessed and loving union of 65 years until his Mr. Moynihan's passing on August 25, 1996. Mrs. Moynihan was last employed by Etch Craft Stencil Works in Little Falls as a stenographer. She was communicant of Holy Family Parish. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she will be dearly missed by her family. Mary was an avid reader. Survivors include her children: Bernard Moynihan, Jr. and wife Gail of Herkimer, William Moynihan and wife Irene of Hamilton and Kathy Moynihan of Little Falls; six grandchildren: Paula Doyle, Kevin, Brian Moynihan and wife Kellee, Patricia Moynihan, Erin Moynihan and husband Kenneth and Sean Moynihan; great grandchildren: Meghan Doyle, Tim Doyle, Erin Doyle, Justine Moynihan, Ceane Moynihan, Declan Moynihan, Holly Moynihan, McKayla Flynn Caswell, and Colleen May Caswell; a daughter in law: Kathryn Moynihan of Alfred, and a brother in law: Peter Harold Moynihan and wife Frances of Little Falls. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son: James Moynihan; a sister: Anne Wilcox and by a brother in law: Frank Wilcox. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006 from 4-6 p.m. Mrs. Moynihan's funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Monday, Jan. 30, from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home and 11 am from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls where the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. The family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to the 5th floor nurses and staff at Folts Homes, Herkimer County Public Health Nursing, Office of the Aging, Little Falls Fire Department Emergency Medical Technicians, Audrey Murray, Mary Regan, Anne Cotter and Dr. Haas for the kindness and compassion given to Mary and her family.
