Obituary of Murletta Nabinger

Murletta J. ?Sis? Nabinger, 82, of Prindle Apartments, Ilion, a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare following a long illness. Murletta was born Jan. 31, 1924 , in Herkimer, daughter of the late Useb and Marjorie (Bose-Griffin) Leonard. She attended Herkimer schools. Murletta was last employed as a cook at the Mohawk Homestead. She was recently baptized a Roman Catholic. A dedicated homemaker, her family was her life. Survivors include three daughters, Murletta ?Jean? Maass and her husband William of Jacksonville, Fla., Lynn Bishop and her companion Leland Nichols of Mohawk and Cheryl Ames of Endwell; two sons, Robert L. and Herbert K. Nabinger; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Chaffee of Arizona and Norma June Leonard of Utica; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and all her friends at Prindle Apartments. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Rebecca, and her brothers and sisters, Shirley, Norbert, Boots, Bud, Betty and Lawrence. In keeping with Murletta's wishes there will be no public calling hours or funeral service at this time. Memorial services at the Prindle Apartments and in Florida will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Murletta's name may be considered to Catholic Charities c/o Terry Leonard, director, 61 West St., Ilion 13357. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Applegate and Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion.
