Obituary of Anna Paracka

Mrs. Anna Paracka, 92, formerly of West Monroe St., and most recently of Rockton Plaza Apts., passed away peacefully on Friday morning, December 29, 2006, following a brief illness, in the home of her daughter Pat Frascatore in Unadilla, NY. She was born on October 12, 1914 in Kernei, in the Austro-Hungerian empire, daughter of the late Joseph and Regina (Gartner) Speer. She was a descendent of German settlers of the Banat region of southeastern Europe who emigrated during the great Swabian trek of the eighteenth century coming to the U.S.A. together with her mother to join her father in 1921. Anna lived most of her life in Little Falls. Her marriage to Dusan Paracka took place on January 1, 1933, he passed away on October 1, 1979. Anna was last employed at Little Falls Hospital as an operator, retiring in 1975. Anna was a faithful member of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. She was very active in the church activities for several years and also spent many hours volunteering her time and efforts for Little Falls Hospital for numerous years. Mrs. Paracka will be sadly missed by her family. She always put the needs of others before worrying about her own. Her gentle and caring ways have created a lasting legacy that all her family and friends will forever remember her by. Survivors include a son: Thomas Paracka and wife Francine of Fulton; a daughter and son in law: Patricia Frascatore and husband John of Unadilla; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son: Donald D. Paracka and by two brothers: Joseph and John Speer. Visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls will be from 5-7 on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2006. Anna's funeral will commence at 10:15 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 3rd from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered by Sister Marilyn Hayes, CSJ, and at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and Johns Streets, Little Falls, where the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will follow to Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls, where she will be laid to rest. Kindly consider memorial offerings to a charity of your choice.
