Obituary of Marie Pellerito

Mrs. Marie C. (Donnelly) Pellerito, 91, formerly of Prospect St., passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Aug. 2, 2006 at Little Falls Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on December 8, 1914, in Little Falls, daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Stack) Donnelly and graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Little Falls. Marie furthered her education attending St. Mary's School of Nursing, graduating in 1935. Her marriage to John Pellerito took place on September 5, 1942 in St. Mary's Church. Mr. Pellerito passed away on February 24, 1978. Marie was employed for many years with Little Falls Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was an active member of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls where she served with the Rosary Society and also as a Eucharistic Minister. After retiring in 1981, she volunteered her time at Little Falls Hospital, Red Cross Bloodmobile, Kateri, and many other local charities. Survivors include her son, John Pellerito and wife Trudy of Little Falls; four daughters: Kathleen Schwasnick and husband Herm of Mohawk; Donna Reid and husband Steve of Oceanside, Ca.; Peggy Vespi and husband Robert of Little Falls, and Gina Ackerman and husband Gordie of Little Falls; a sister Helen Donnelly of Little Falls, and a brother, Frank Donnelly and wife Josephine of Cicero. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law Leo Murphy, and her dear friend Marge Rogers. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Peter Donnelly and her sister, Irene Murphy. A prayer service was held this morning at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am from Holy Family Parish Church, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls, officiated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor. Procession followed to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where Interment took place. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial offering to The Holy Family Parish, Little Falls.
