Obituary of Michael Rando

Michael J. Rando, 52, of 124 S. Bellinger St., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, April 19, 2006 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. At the time of his passing he had the love and support of his family at his side. He was born on May 23, 1953 in Herkimer, the son of the late Robert E. and Frances (Casale) Rando and graduated with the Herkimer High School Class of 1972. His marriage to the former Georgia Bennett took place on April 5, 1983. He was last employed with Steet-Ponte Herkimer as a certified A.S.E. Technician. Mike will be deeply missed by his loved ones. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle but was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. Survivors include six children: Michael Rando and wife Melissa of Mohawk, Joseph Rando and wife Kelly of Ilion, Robert Rando of Little Falls, Frances Dygert and husband Chris of Herkimer, Anthony Rando and fiance Nicole of Herkimer and Georgia Rando and fiance Grant of Herkimer; seven brothers and sisters: Robert "Bob" Rando and fiance Barb of Herkimer, Kirk Rando and wife Cissy of Herkimer, Maryann Rando and fiance Michael of Herkimer, Ken Rando and wife Liz of Fulton, Steven Rando of Herkimer, James Rando and wife Lorie of Mohawk, and George Rando and special friend Steve of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren: Josh, Zachary, Sierra, Alexis, Tyler, Adrianna, Michael II, Patricia, Charity, Austin and Haley; his mother in law: Arthella Holtz and husband Merrill; inlaws: Bill Bennett, Floyd, George and Theresa, Art and Julie, Larry and Amber, Dale, Darlene, Sue and John, Kathy, and MaryAnn. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister: Linda Sudakow; father in law: George Bennett and brother in law: Garry Bennett. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, on Friday, April 21, 2006 from 5-7 p.m. His funeral will commence at 7 p.m. on Friday evening, in the funeral home with the Rev. Ann Zimmerman, pastor of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
