Obituary of Alicia Reardon

Alicia M. (Howe) Reardon, 95 a life long Herkimer resident, passed away on Friday May 5, 2006 at Valley Health Service, Herkimer. She was born June 1, 1910 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Leo B. & Caroline I. (Houck) Howe and was educated in Herkimer schools. Her marriage to Cornelius J. ?Neil? Reardon took place on March 17, 1935 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer. The couple shared a blessed union of 53 years until the passing of Mr. Reardon on March 16, 1988. Mrs. Reardon was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer. Alicia was a loving wife, an exceptional mother, grandmother and friend to all those with whom she shared her life. Her priorities, her concerns, and her responsibilities, revolved around her family. Gifted with a kind attitude, a loving manner, and a generous spirit and good listening skills, she always kept her heart and her home open to those who sought comfort, warmth and acceptance. Survivors include her children; Connie Gage and husband Dave of Mohawk, Francis Reardon and wife Helen of Florida, Mark Reardon and wife Cindi of Maryland, & Patrick Reardon and wife Barbara of Utah, daughter-in-law; Joyce Waterbury Reardon of Herkimer; sister-in-law, Mary Howe of Herkimer, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, and a special friend Carolyn Goodhines of Schuyler. She was pre-deceased by her sons, Richard, William and Douglas Reardon, Sr., son-in-law; John Bernier, Jr., brother; LeRoy Howe, and sisters; Marion Folts, Florence Rix & Elizabeth Miller. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 9, 2006 at 10:15 am from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer and at 11:00 am from St. Francis de Sales Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Mark Cunningham, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home, on Monday May 8, 2006 from 5-8 pm. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Valley Health Services for the care shown to Alicia during her stay. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Health Services or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
