Obituary of Paul Sadlon

Paul F. Sadlon, Jr., 87, of Kenyon St., passed into eternity on Wednesday morning, February 22, 2006 in Little Falls Hospital. He was born on August 2, 1918 in Herkimer, the son of the late Paul and Anna (Duga) Sadlon and was educated in Little Falls schools. His marriage to Katherine Yaworski took place on June 29, 1941 in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. A United States veteran he served with the U.S. Navy. He enlisted on May 24, 1944 and was honorably discharged on February 13, 1946 holding the rank of Seaman, First Class. His last professional employment was with Remington Arms, Ilion, retiring after 35 years of loyal service. He was at one time employed with H. P. Snyder Manufacturing and was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls, and also the Little Falls American Legion Post #31. Survivors include his beloved wife Katherine at home; two sons: Paul J. Sadlon and wife Sue of Calabash, NC, and John L. Sadlon and wife JoAnn of Little Falls; a daughter: Carol A. Merrill and husband Douglas of North Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother and sister in law: Steven Sadlon and wife Helen of Ilion; six grandchildren: Kathleen Giewont and husband Mark, Sharon Sadlon, Jessica Wheeler, Jill Sadlon, Ryan Wheeler and wife Amber, and Lisa Merrill; a great granddaughter: Hanna Giewont; a great grand son: Zachary Wheeler several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be fondly remembered by his many brothers in law and sisters in law: Walter Yaworski, Mike and Georgia Yaworski, John Ostacz, Joan Loiacano and Nancy and Bernie Hugic. Paul had a happy life. He was highly respected by all who knew him; he was a kind and friendly man who enjoyed sharing a good story. His children and grandchildren will always lovingly remember "Pop" and "Grandpa". He had a great love for his home, family and for the outdoors. He spent his free time gardening, boating, fishing and golfing. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 from 5-7 p.m. Paul's funeral will commence at 9:15 on Sat. morn., Feb. 25, from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 10am from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls, with the Rev. Carl Evans, pastor, officiating. He will be laid to rest this spring in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls.
