On August 27, 1949, he was joined in marriage with the former Marie Putch in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort, with Father Bondi officiating. A blessed union of 56 years, the couple always enjoyed the comfort and love they provided to one another throughout the years. A veteran of World War II, Len enlisted in 1942 honorably serving with the U.S. Marine Corps and was discharged in 1945. He participated in action against the enemy at Kwajalein Atoll, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima and was awarded the Certificate of Satisfactory Service. Because of his tireless energy and devotion to duty, he received a citation in appreciation of his efforts from C.B. Gates, Major General, United Sates Marine Corps Commanding Fourth Marine Division. Len was formerly employed for more than twenty years as an inspector with Griffiss Airforce Base in Rome and was last employed with Rudy's Menswear in Herkimer. He was affiliated with the Erie Canal Chapter 4th Marine Division, National Marine Corps League and was a life member of the Ilion Marine Corps League. He attended Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort. In his spare time, Len enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, proudly instilling in his loved ones the Italian customs and traditions that were given to him by his own parents. Surviving is his beloved family who were the core of his existence and foremost concern in his life: his wife Marie of Frankfort; his children: Joseph A.
