Obituary of Donald Shaul

Donald K. Shaul, age 41, a lifelong Herkimer resident, entered into eternal rest at his E. German St. residence on Friday afternoon, January 20, 2006, following a long illness. He was born on April 22, 1964 in Rome, son of the late Harold V. Shaul and Ida (Donato) Shaul of Herkimer. Donnie was educated in Herkimer schools and attended Herkimer County Community College and Mohawk Valley Community College. He was last employed with Par Technology. A beloved son, brother and uncle, Donnie fulfilled these roles with pride offering his family members loving guidance and constant support. He was a devoted uncle who was always available and ready to offer his advice and assistance to his nieces and nephews who were also his closest friends. A talented mechanic, he especially enjoyed working on Audi's, Volkswagen's and motorcycles. In his leisure time he enjoyed playing the guitar. An avid reader, Donnie's taste ranged from National Lampoon to the literary classics. Don will be lovingly missed by his family including his beloved mother: Ida; three devoted siblings: Patti Lampert of Herkimer, Jackie Shaul and husband Edward Lynch of Baltimore, Md., and David Shaul and wife Diana of Austin, Tx.; aunts and uncles: Tony and Jackie Annotto of Herkimer, Dolores Salisbury of Herkimer and Kate Rickles of California; his cherished nieces and nephews: Kristin Lampert and John Lampert, Jackie Baggetta and David Baggetta, Dan DeJohn and wife Melissa, and Michael Paul and wife Leslie; his adored great nieces and nephews: Taylor, Thomas, Anna, David, Jennifer, Angela, and Patrick. Also surviving is his feline companion: "Mr. Bob." He was predeceased by his uncle: Donald Salisbury. Donnie's funeral will commence at 7 p.m. on Monday evening, January 23, 2006 from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer.
