Obituary of Ralph Skinner

Mr. Ralph H. Skinner, Sr., 71, of Eureka Ave., Herkimer, passed away on Monday morning, March 13, 2006 in the Masonic Home, Utica. He was born in Ilion on December 2, 1934, the son of the late Kenneth and Ella (Kinney) Skinner and was educated in Ilion and Richfield Springs schools. He served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged. His last employment was with Sam Sheffler Construction in Herkimer. He was a life member of the Herkimer American Legion Post #38 and the Polish Home of Herkimer. Survivors include his children: Ralph Skinner, Jr., of Rochester and Mark and Kathy; a brother: Donald Skinner and wife Eunice of Little Falls; four sisters: Helen Wilson and husband Tom of Richfield Springs, Shirley Bean of Clovis, New Mexico, Darlene Davis and husband Orson of Cooperstown, and Joan Davis of Okeechobee, Fl.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers: Kenneth Skinner, Jr., and Earl Skinner and by two sisters: Cora and Sandra Skinner. His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 11 am from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer with the Rev. Patricia Lawrence officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, in the spring. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Masonic Home, Utica, for their tender love and care.
