Josephine M. Snedeker, 82 of Ilion, passed away on Friday January 6, 2006 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. She was born December 11, 1923 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Joseph & Rose (DePalo) Shevat, and was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1942. Her marriage to Guy Snedeker, took place on December 31, 1949 at St. John's Church in Newport, NY. Josephine was last employed for the Herkimer Evening Telegram. Mrs. Snedeker was of the catholic faith. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Guy; her daughters, Roseann Cryer and her husband George of Mohawk, & Kathleen Mancuso and her husband Joseph of Herkimer; her sons, Martin Snedeker and his wife Darlene of Rome & Guy J. Snedeker and his wife Susan of Syracuse; 4 grandchildren, Wendy Spina of Buffalo, Andrea & Matthew Mancuso both of Herkimer, & Alyssa Snedeker of Rome, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Samuel Shevat and 3 sisters, Lucy Blasting, Mary Barberio and Amy Casale. Funeral services will be held on Sunday January 8, 2006 at 8:00 pm from the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 pm until the time of the services. Spring burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. All memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
