Obituary of Millan Sovis

Mr. Millan Ludwig Sovis 94 a resident of the Skilled Nursing Facility of Little Falls Hospital and former Dolgeville resident died Thursday February 2, 2006. He was born in Little Falls on August 8, 1911 the son of the late Paul and Katie Sovis and was educated in Little Falls schools. His marriage to the former Mildred V. Patterson took place on September 28, 1940 in the Presbyterian Manse in Little Falls. Mrs. Sovis predeceased him on March 16, 1995. A veteran of World War II he served honorably in the Army from October 1942 until his discharge in January of 1946. He served in Luzon and New Guinea with the 3743 QM Truck Company. He was awarded the following medals for his service to our country, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Service Medial, and Philippines Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Service Stars. Millan was an electrician by trade working out of the Electricians Union of Utica, New York. He is survived by a Brother Paul Sovis of Dolgeville his nephews and their wives Brian and Sharon Sovis of Dolgeville, Edward and Sue Sovis of Riverside, California, his great nephews and their wives Jason and Dawn Sovis, Christopher and Alicia Sovis and Edward P. Sovis Jr.. He was predeceased by his daughter Sandra on September 13, 1993. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are No calling hours. Burial will take place in the spring in the Dolgeville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
