Miss Eva F. Strait 83 a resident of the St. Johnsville Nursing Home since June 2005 and former Canajoharie resident, died Christmas Eve Sunday December 24, 2006 at the nursing home. Miss Strait was born in Utica, New York on April 26, 1923 the daughter of the late James D. and Eva (Evans) Strait and was educated in local schools. Eva never married, but enjoyed her brothers? and sisters? family as if they were her own. She enjoyed fishing and the Love of her family and friends throughout the years. She is survived by her Brothers George Strait and his wife Catherine of Dolgeville, James and his wife Marsha Strait of Paris, Illinois, and Norman and his wife Anna Strait of Jacksonville, FL., several Nieces and Nephews, including her deceased Sisters children, Harold & Mary Mosher, Stanley & Annabelle Hayes, Eva Marie Carpenter, Frank & Evelyn Jaikin, Peter & Ruth Jaikin, Acie & Marie Jaikin, James & Artimisha Jaikin and Linda Dykeman. She was predeceased by her Sister Cora V. Jaiken on December 20, 2001. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date in St. Joseph?s Cemetery Dolgeville.
