Obituary of Raymond Taylor

Mr. Raymond R. Taylor 85 a resident of the Park Hill Adult Home in Amsterdam since November 2002 and former Brockett Street and South Main Street resident of Dolgeville, died Friday evening October 27, 2006 at the home. Ray was born in Buffalo, New York on April 11, 1921 the son of the late Burtrum and Edna (Sulzabach) Taylor and attended schools in Buffalo. His marriage to the former Martha E. Rowland took place on November 21, 1942 in Rockford, Ohio. Mrs. Taylor predeceased him on November 17, 1982. A veteran of the United States Army he served honorably from July 1944 until his discharge in June of 1946 as a Sgt. He was with Headquarters Company in Frankfurt, Germany. His decorations and citations included the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, 3 Overseas services Bars, Army Occupation Medal (Germany). Ray was a sales representative for the Wolverine Shoe Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1981. He was of the Presbyterian faith, and a former member of the Dolgeville Masonic Lodge #796. He personally enjoyed traveling, golfing and was a New York Mets fan. He is survived by his daughters Ann LaFave of Huntersville, NC, Susan Linderborn of Lisle, NY and Debra Taylor and her partner Joanna of Gloversville, his Grandchildren Lisa, Aimee, Jennifer, Howie, Susan, Steven and Kyle, his Companion of 20 years Rosemary Novorgurski of Dolgeville. A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday at 1PM in the Dolgeville Cemetery. There are NO CALLING HOURS.
