Thomas ?Tom? Vail, 52 of Bull Hill Road, Cold Brook, passed away on Sunday February 19, 2006 at the Abraham House in Utica, NY. He was born October 7, 1953 in Poughkeepsie, NY the son of Patricia (Sheehan) Vail and the late Lawrence Vail, and was a graduate of Pawling High School. His marriage to Cheryl Paugh took place on March 11, 1972 in Pawling, NY. Tom was last employed as a night manager at the P & C Grocery Store in Marcy, NY. With family as his foremost priority, Tom proved himself a loving and caring father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. In his leisure Tom was a classic car enthusiast. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Cheryl, his mother Patricia Vail of Little Falls, his daughter, Sandie McDermott and her husband Sean of Cold Brook; Michael Vail and his wife Jackie of England; Luke Vail and his wife Katherine of Hinckley Lake; his grandchildren, Cody, Kate, Madison, Lila, Wyatt & Jackson, and surrogate children, Justin & Jason Gokey. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 23, 2006 at 6:00 pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY with Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo, officiating. Spring interment will be in Church Street Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at funeral home on Thursday Feb. 23, 2006 from 4:00 pm until the time of the services. As Tom did not like vases of flowers, the family request donations in Tom?s memory to be made to the Abraham House, Utica, NY. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
