Obituary of William Weynachter

Mr. William R. Weynachter 96 of 134 Fish & Game Road Little Falls, Town of Salisbury, died Sunday May 14, 2006 at the home of his daughter Shirley Buxton with whom he lived. He was born in Utica, New York on November 28, 1909 the son of John and Martha (Spitzer) Weynachter and was a graduate of St. Joseph?s School in Utica. A veteran of WW II he served honorably in the United States Army from November 25, 1942 until he was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal on October 9, 1945. He served with Company C 812 Tank Battalion. Upon returning from the service he began his career with the New York Central railroad, retiring from there with 30 years of service, in 1974. His marriage to the former Edna Bowers took place on December 3, 1974 in River Beach, Florida. Mrs. Weynachter predeceased him on July 29, 1988. He and his wife spent many years in Dunnellon, Florida, spending summers at Spruce Lake. He returned to this area in August 2005 to reside with his daughter. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and his love of the outdoors was evident by his camping and love of the animals around him. Surviving him are his Daughters Shirley M. Buxton of Spruce Lake with whom he lived and Virginia James of Florida, 8 Grandchildren 21 Great Grandchildren 2 Nieces Lorraine Fertal of California, and Marian Weynachter of PA. A Special Friend Janee McClellan of Dunnellon, FL. He was predeceased by a Brother Alois and Sisters Rose and Elizabeth. A Graveside service will be held Friday May 19, 2006 at 3PM in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Rev. Joseph Chamberlin will officiate. There are no calling hours. Memorials may be sent to the Herkimer County Humane Society in his name. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville, NY.
