Obituary of John Willman

John A. ?Kurt? Willman, 55, of South Fourth Ave., Ilion, passed away on Sunday August 6, 2006 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown with his family by his side. He was born January 30, 1951 in Little Falls the son of the late George E. & Elizabeth ?Betty? (Kinney) Willman. Kurt was educated in Little Falls schools and lived in Ilion since 2000. His marriage to Mary Keppel took place on October 30, 1998 in Little Falls. Mr. Willman was a United States Air Force Veteran, enlisting on March 15, 1983 and was honorably discharged on March 2, 1987 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Kurt was last employed at Feldmeier Equipment in Little Falls. Mr. Willman was of the catholic faith and was a member of the Little Falls American Legion, Ilion Elks Lodge and the Marine Corps League in Ilion. An Avid outdoorsman, Kurt enjoyed all types of outdoor activities, especially riding his motorcycle. In his leisure he enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. Along with his wife Mary, he had been a foster parent for over 10 children in the past eight years. Survivors include his wife of eight years, Mary, his son, Craig Willman of Ilion, his step-sons, Eric Chrisman of Louisville, Kentucky, Joel Chrisman and Jared Chrisman both of Little Falls, three grandsons, Kyle, Caleb and Madison, his brothers, George ?Pork? Willman and wife Rachael of Little Falls, William Willman and wife Mickey of Syracuse and James Willman and wife Sandy of Tennessee, his sisters, Janet Coholan and husband Terry of Rochester, Joan Olney and husband Bob of Syracuse, Elizabeth Buckbee and husband David of Little Falls, and Sarah Green and husband John of Little Falls, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Timothy Willman. Funeral services will be held Thursday August 10, 2006 at 10:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY with Reverend Anthony Ligato, pastor of the Holy Family Parish officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday August 9, 2006 from 4-8 pm.
