Obituary of Helen Wind

Helen Stella Wind, age 81, a lifelong Little Falls resident, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday afternoon, January 18, 2006 in Little Falls with the love and support of her family at her bedside. She was born on October 7, 1924 in Little Falls, daughter of the late Joseph and Edna (Siek) Wind and was educated in Little Falls. She was last employed with the Little Frocks Dress Factory and was of the Catholic Faith. Helen devoted her life to the care of her parents and to others in her family. A beloved sister, aunt and friend, Helen will be missed by all whose lives she touched. In her spare time she enjoyed figure skating, roller skating and spending time in her garden tending to her flowers. Survivors include her beloved family including her brother: Mayor Theodore Wind of Little Falls; nephews and a niece: Dr. Theodore Wind and wife Nancy, Thomas Wind and wife Lisa, Robert Wind and wife Dawn, Dr. Michael Wind, John Wind and wife Joella and Mary Wind, Alan Wind and wife Patrice and Michael Wind and wife Josie. Also surviving are many great nieces, great nephews and a cousin: Alice Koski. She was predeceased by a brother: Joseph Wind. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Friday, January20, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. Helen's funeral will begin at 8:15 am on Saturday, Jan. 21, from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 9 am from Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, with the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, officiating. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of floral tributes, please consider memorial contributions to the Holy Family Parish Memorial Fund. Donations may be made at the funeral home and envelopes may be obtained there as well. The family would like to offer their gratitude to the Little Falls Hospital Emergency Room Staff, Dr. Haas and the nurses on 3 east. Helen was a loving sister and aunt who was full of inspiration and remained a source of strength for her family. She was a compassionate woman whose acceptance, understanding, insight, and guidance always made the difference in someone's day and often in someones's life. She always placed the needs of her loved ones before her own. Gifted with a zest for life, she lived each day to the fullest enjoying the company of family and friends deominstrating an enthusiastic interest and support for their activities.
