Mary Ann Wood, age 53, of 52 Remington Ave., Ilion, died Saturday, February 18, 2006, at home with her family by her side. Mary Ann devoted her life to her children, her community, her church and to all that needed a loving hand, shoulder to cry on or just an ear to listen. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a volunteer with Herkimer Co. Hospice and Habitat for Humanity. Survivors include her four children, Anthony "Joe" Chabrier and his fiancee, Stacie Munn of Frankfort, Enrique "Henry" Santana and his wife, Angie of Frankfort, Charlyne Santana of Ilion, and Ramonita "Dita" Santana of Herkimer; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Anyssa, Amelio, Julius, Kyra, Amaya and Alaina; two brothers, Eddie Garcia and David Ruperto of Mohawk; her stepfather, Arcelio Castro of Mohawk; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Consuelo (Ramos) Castro, last Wednesday, February 15, 2006; and her father, Eddie Garcia Sr. Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 317 Gros Blvd., E. Herkimer. Calling hours are Monday, February 20, 2006, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, and Tuesday, 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. at the church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Missionary Fund or Habitat for Humanity.
