Obituary of Jason Barse

Jason S. Barse, 44, of Frankfort, was tragically taken in a vehicular mishap on Saturday evening, August 19, 2005, in route back to his home while visiting his sister Karen in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born on April 3, 1961 in Herkimer, a son of the late Harry S. and Patricia S. (Buddie) Barse and attended Mohawk central schools and was last employed with the Department of Transportation's Herkimer office. Jason cherished the relationships he had with his family. He was blessed with many loyal friends who will miss him very much. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors, trapping, fishing and hunting. He leaves his two beloved children: Michael S. Barse and Haylea J. Barse and their mother, Lynne Barse of Mohawk; two cherished sisters: Karen Johnston and husband David of Biloxi, Mississippi and Kristin Smith and husband Scott of West Winfield; his adored nieces and nephews: Brigitte, Kevin, Meghan, Dylan, Devin and Madison; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister: Susan Waterman on Feb. 18, 2005 and by a brother Kevin Barse. The Barse family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main St. between Frankfort and Ilion, on Thursday, August 25, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. A graveside memorial service will commence on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005 at 11 am in Mohawk Cemetery, with the Rev. George Greene, officiating. Offerings in his memory may be made to the Jason S. Barse Memorial Fund to be used toward educational expenses for his children.
