Obituary of Jamie Baum

Jamie B. Baum, age 50, of 34 Columbia St., Mohawk, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Little Falls Hospital. Jamie was born July 30, 1954 in Ilion, daughter of Charles and Shirley (Streeter) Forbes. She attended Mohawk Schools, "Class of 1973." On December 18, 1993, she was united in marriage to Arthur G. "Art" Baum. Jamie was employed as manager at the Mohawk Station Restaurant, and previously worked at several valley restaurants for many years. Jamie had a green thumb, enjoying gardening and tending her houseplants. She loved to decorate the house on holidays, displaying her festive spirit. Jamie's life was centered around her loved ones and friends. Survivors include her husband, Art, at home; children, Jon Martin and his wife, Anne of Little Falls, Peter Norwich of Little Falls, Michelle Mae Norwich of Mohawk; stepson, Ryan Baum and Tammy of Mohawk; cherished grandchildren, Zachary and Jarrett Baum, Holly and Alexa Martin; her loving parents, Charles and Shirley Forbes of FL; her brothers and sister, Timothy Forbes and wife, Cheryl of Mohawk, James Forbes of FL, Daniel Forbes and wife, Susan of Mohawk, and Nancy Grose of Ilion; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Richard Brownell of Sauquoit; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to a gathering at the Mohawk Station Restaurant Thursday, June 16, 2005, commencing at 12 noon. In keeping with Jamie's wishes there will be no public calling hours or funeral services. Those wishing to do so may consider memorials in Jamie's name to the St. Judes Children's Hospital. Donation envelopes will be available at the gathering, or by calling the funeral home at 895-7722. Jamie's family is being served by the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk, NY.
