Obituary of Mary Biasini

Mary V. Biasini, age 95, formerly a long time resident of Church St., Mohawk, passed away Thursday morning, October 6, 2005, at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, with her loved ones by her side. Mary was born November 30, 1909 in Amsterdam, NY, daughter of William and Josephine (Sidoti) Vesp. She attended school in Fort Plain. On October 12, 1929, Mary was united in marriage to Stanley Biasini Sr. in Fort Plain. They shared a blessed and devoted union of 49 years until Mr. Biasini's passing on March 9, 1978. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker, Mary loved to cook and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, and at one time the Rosary Society, she was also active in the Mohawk and Herkimer Senior Citizen's Clubs. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Rose Biasini Jr. of Mohawk; two daughters and sons-in-law, Josephine and Charles VanHorn of Oregon, and Patricia and James Keddell of Ohio; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her her husband, Stanley; two brothers, John and Frank Vesp; and two sisters, Angelina Fontana and Sara Locorini. Family and friends are invited to visitation Sunday, October 9th, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk. Mary's funeral service will be held Monday commencing at 10:15 a.m. at the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home, Mohawk and 11 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Mark Cunningham, Sacramental Minister assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. Procession to Mohawk Cemetery for interment will follow Mass. Those wishing to do so may consider memorial contributions in Mary's memory to the Blessed Sacrament Church. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Mary's family would like the thank the staff at the Mohawk Homestead, and the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home for their care and compassion shown to Mary during her stays with them.
