Obituary of Anthony Buccafurno
Anthony J. Buccafurno, age 85, a Little Falls native passed away on Friday, February 4, 2005 in Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, Ga. Anthony was born on July 23, 1919 in Little Falls, the son of the late Frank and Rose (Dolce) Buccafurno and was educated in Little Falls Schools. On April 18, 1940, he was united in Holy Matrimony with Angie Celebi in Little Falls. She pre-deceased him on April 19, 1998. On January 9, 1945, he enlisted with the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in March of 1946. Anthony was a welder by trade and his last professional employment was with Cherry Burrell Corp. in Little Falls. He was the owner of Buck's Iron and was very active within the community. He was a member of the DeCarlo Staffo Post, Elk's Lodge and held membership for many years with the Little Falls Rotary Club. He served as the Police and Fire Commisioner for 22 years. Survivors include two children: Frank Buccafurno and wife Betty of Amsterdam, Netherlands and Roselynn Wall and husband Bob of Marietta Ga; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; in-laws Sopie and Olga Celebi, Rene Buccafurno and Grace Buccafurno; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by four brothers: Jim, Mike, Felix, and Jack Buccafurno and by a sister, Felicia Cooney. The family invites relatives and friends to visitation on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 from 5-7 p.m at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls. His funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Wednesday morning from the chapel of the funeral home and at 11 am from Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. He will be laid to rest with his wife Angie in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer. Kindly consider memorial offerings to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The following organizations are asked to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday to conduct services: Little Falls Elk's Lodge # 42 at 6:00 PM and the DeCarlo Staffo Post at 6:30 PM. Pall bearers will be members of the Little Falls Police Department and are asked to gather at the Enea Family Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Wednesday morning.
