Obituary of Myrtle Bunce

Myrtle B. Bunce, 91, of King Street, Herkimer, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005, at Valley Health Services. She was born July 15, 1913, in Brighton, N.Y., the daughter of the late Grover D. and Clara May (Krum) Hadcox, and was educated in Paines Hollow and Mohawk schools. Her marriage to Claude D. Bunce took place on Nov. 23, 1930, in the town of Columbia by the Rev. Ridgeway. Mr. Bunce passed away on Nov. 21, 1960. Myrtle was last employed at the Three Maples Rest Home in Fort Herkimer. At one time she worked at the former Allegro Shoe Co. in Little Falls. Survivors include four sons, Richard Bunce and wife June of West Winfield, Fredrick Sterling and wife Donna of West Winfield, Curtis Bunce and wife Dorothy of West Winfield and Ronald Bunce and wife Betty of Frankfort; three daughters, Shirley Sanders and husband Alan of Frankfort, Sandra Combs of Herkimer and Sharon Rolchigo and husband Joseph of Schuyler; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Morton Edwards and two brothers, Ross and Frank Hadcox. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, at 8 p.m. from the Holleran and Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Spring interment will take place in Mohawk Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday, March 7, from 5 p.m. until the time of the services.
