Obituary of Ralph Ciociola

Ralph M. Ciociola, 81 a long time Ilion resident, passed away on Sunday September 4, 2005 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, NY. He was born March 5, 1924 in Little Falls, NY the son of the late Michael & Congetta (Latorre) Ciociola and was educated in Little Falls schools. His marriage to Carmella Salvaggio took place on June 12, 1948 at the former St. Mary's Church in Frankfort. Mr. Ciociola was a World War II Army veteran enlisting on March 2, 1943 and was honorably discharged on December 23, 1946. Ralph was last employed at I.C.L. (International Computer Limited). Mr. Cicciola was a member of the Annunciation Church in Ilion, NY and the D.A.V. An avid outdoorsman, Ralph enjoyed hunting & fishing. In his leisure he enjoyed bowling. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Carmella, 1 daughter, Madeline Webber and husband Jerry of Rome, NY 2 sons, Michael Ciociola of Pavilion, NY & Ralph Ciociola of Utica, a brother, Arthur Ciociola and wife Gloria of Little Falls, 2 sisters, Natali (Dolly) Constanza of Dolgeville, & Josephine McCumber and husband Robert of Little Falls, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 sisters, Anna Cascia and Angeline Vedovati, & 2 brothers, Patsy Ciociola and Albert Ciociola. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2005 at 1;00 pm from the Enea Family Funeral Home, (Main Street between Ilion & Frankfort) and at 1:30 pm from the Annunciation Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Anthony M. Barratt, pastor officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the Enea Family Funeral Home, on Tuesday September 6, 2005 from 6-9 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to the Annunciation Church or to the Catholic Charities. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
