Obituary of Margaret Clements

Mrs. Margaret J. ?Peggy? Clements 70 of 71 South Main Street Dolgeville died Tuesday July 19, 2005 in the Van Allen Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since June 6th. She was born in Utica, NY on July 13, 1935 the daughter of Carlton and Alice (Bliss) MacArthur and was educated in Oppenheim schools. Her marriage to Homer Crowell took place on January 1, 1966 in Frankfort, NY. He predeceased her on November 12, 1974. Peggy?s marriage to Paul Clements was on July 29, 1978. Prior to operating a jewelry store with her husband Homer in Dolgeville and in Frankfort she was employed by the Daniel Green Company in the main office. They moved their jewelry store to Canton, New York where they operated it for 25 years, prior to his death. Peggy enjoyed traveling to many distant places, including a 9000 mile motor trip throughout the United States and Canadian provinces. They also went to Europe on three different occasions and visited several other countries. Peggy personally enjoyed needlework, where she cross-stitched wall hangings, table cloths, place mats and bed spreads. She displayed one of her bed spreads at a quilt show in Old Forge and in Cooperstown. She enjoyed cooking her favorite recipes for her friends at dinner parties at her home, along with playing pinochle on Saturday evenings. Peggy and Paul opened the Senator Patrie Estate Bed & Breakfast at their home in the summer of 2003. She especially enjoyed visiting with the different guest that were staying with them at the bed & breakfast. She was a member of the Oppenheim Senior Citizens and the Dolgeville ? Manheim Historical Society. She is survived by her Husband Paul, her for step children and their spouses, Gary and Eva Clements of Rennes, France, Richard and Patricia of Cobleskill, Joanne & Jerry Dingus of Yorktown, VA., Patricia & William Wilkes of Centerport, NY, ten Step-Grandchildren: Melanie, Nicola, Cameron, Jordan, Karyn Clements, Jaimie and Jerry Dingus, Rebecca, William and Kimberley Wilkes, an Uncle, Donald Balch of Cazenovia, an Aunt, Marion Anguish of Fulton, Special friends June Young of Oppenheim, and Susan Widowski of Central Square. A Graveside service will be held this Sunday July 24, 2005 at 1:30PM in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Losey, Pastor of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
