Mary Conte, 83 formerly of Utica, passed away on Tuesday July 26, 2005 at the home of her son Benedict Conte. She was born August 25, 1921 in Utica, the daughter of the late Angelo and Maria (DeVito) Castelli, and was educated in Utica schools. Her marriage to Giacomo Conte took place on February 12, 1955 in Utica. The couple shared a blessed union of 44 years until the passing of Mr. Conte on May 16, 1999. Mrs. Conte was last employed at the former DeVine Brothers in Utica. Mary was of the Catholic faith. With family as her foremost priority, Mary proved herself as a loving and caring mother and grandmother. In her leisure she enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. Survivors include her son Benedict Conte and wife Deborah of St. Johnsville, a daughter Maria McIntosh and husband Brion of California, her grandchildren Angeline Conte, Giacomo Conte, and Audrey McIntosh, her step-grandchildren Eric and Corine Barnes & Chad & Jessica Barnes, and several nieces, nephews & cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother Pasquale Castelli and a sister Katherine Juhasz. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 3, 2005 at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Utica, will be held at the convenience of the family.
