Obituary of Dorothy Countryman

Mrs. Dorothy Countryman 93 a resident of the St. Johnsville Nursing Home and formerly of 7 New Street St. Johnsville, died Saturday evening September 3, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. She was born in the Salisbury Center, on February 1, 1912 the daughter of Roy H. and Evangeline (Thompson) Youker and attended rural school in the Salisbury Center. Her marriage to Kenneth S. Countryman took place on April 18, 1931 in St. Johnsville. He predeceased her. Dorothy was employed for many years at Rukoffs Dress Shop in Little Falls and also at the Palatine Dye Company in St. Johnsville. She was of the Protestant Faith and was a member of the St. Johnsville Senior Citizens. She personally enjoyed crocheting, canning and fishing. She is survived by her sons Kenneth S. Countryman of Chicago, Gerald E. Countryman of St. Johnsville. A Brother Roy H. "Bud" Youker of Dolgeville a Sister Harma Wagner of Dolgeville 13 Grandchildren, several great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Sons Jay R. and Douglas R., her Daughter Evadean Her Brother Lawrence Youker, her Sisters Catherine Timmerman, Lula Valtin, Beatrice Paatz, Frances Humphrey, Norma Gene Bryant, Rosalind Murphy and Marion Gray. A Graveside Memorial service will be held at the Rural Park Cemetery, in Inghams Mills on Saturday September 10th,2005 at 1PM. There are No Calling hours. Memorials may be sent to the St. Johnsville Ambulance Corps in her memory. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
