Obituary of William Cristman

William R. Cristman, Sr., age 62, of Little Falls passed away on Tuesday afternoon, January 25, 2005 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He was born on February 19, 1942 in Little Falls a son of the late Frederick Cristman and Dorothy (Campbell) Cristman of Little Falls. He was educated in St. Mary's Academy and Herkimer schools. He enlisted with the United States Army on May 27, 1961 and received an honorable discharge. He was employed by New York Central Railroad and was a member of Holy Family Parish. Very involved with the community he held memberships with Little Falls American Legion Post #31, Little Falls German Mannechoir, Little Falls Polish Club and often visited the Amsterdam American Legion. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy, two sons, Michael Cristman of St. Johnsville and William Cristman and wife Bethany of Little Falls, two brothers, Edward Cristman and wife Wendy of Little Falls and Frederick Cristman and wife Tina of Ilion, three sisters, Penny Devereese of Little Falls, Sherry Herringshaw and husband Fran of Little Falls and Bonnie Beekman also of Little Falls. Also surviving is an aunt, Mildred Cumbie of Fairfax, VA, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother Mark Cristman. Funeral services with full military honors will be held on Friday morning, January 28, 2005 at 11 am from the chapel of the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls with Sister Marilyn Hayes, CSJ, officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 27, from 5-8 p.m and to attend the services on Friday morning. Members of the American Legion Post #31 will gather at the Enea Funeral Home at 6 p.m. on Thursday to conduct their service. For directions to the funeral home, click the facilities link above.
