Obituary of Evelyn Davis

Mrs. Evelyn G. Davis 84 of 93 South Main Street Dolgeville, died Sunday evening January 30, 2005 in Little Falls Hospital after a brief illness. Evelyn was born in Dolgeville on May 15, 1920 the daughter of Raymond and Gertrude (Riley) Mang and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School class of 1938. Her marriage to Kenneth Davis took place on June 3, 1942 in the Dolgeville Methodist Church. Mr. Davis predeceased her on May 20, 1990. Mrs. Davis assisted her husband in the operation of the family farm in the town of Fairfield for over 40 years. She also was a companion and housekeeper for Mrs. Jane Mahoney of Little Falls. She was a member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church, and a member of the Auskerada- Maquaes-Rock City Chapter # 204 Order of Eastern Star. She personally enjoyed Cooking and her faithful dog ?Scarlet?. Surviving her are her sons and their wives Richard and Carry Davis of Little Falls (town of Fairfield), Kevin Davis and his Fianc?e? Jennifer Moshier of Ft. Plain, His daughters Karen and her husband Manly Shults of Delhi, NY and Sharon Lee Polnak and her companion James Lasher of Ft. Plain, 10 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren A Sister in Law Theresa of Mt. Dora, Fla., a Brother in Law Earl Fulmer of Little Falls, N & N and cousins. A Brother Kenneth Mang predeceased her in 1974. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 3, 2005 at 11 AM at the Dolgeville United Methodist Church on Helmer Avenue. Her Grandson Rev. Barnum Shults and Rev. Dr. Jeff Losey will co-officiate. Spring burial will be in the Dolgeville Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Members of the Order of Easter Star are asked to meet at 6PM to hold Ritualistic services for Evelyn. Memorials may be made to the Dolgeville United Methodist Church in her memory.
