Obituary of Ruth Decker

Mrs. Ruth Mang Decker 102 of 15 West State Street, Dolgeville?s oldest resident and who was a resident of the Folts Home in Herkimer, since May died there Tuesday evening August 23, 2005. She was born in the Town of Salisbury on May 28, 1903 the daughter of Charles and Harriett (Homrighaus) Mang and was educated in rural school in Snells Bush. She also attended Dolgeville schools. She continued her education by completing courses Albany Business School. Her marriage to Lloyd G. Decker took place on December 30, 1927 in St. Paul?s Episcopal Church in Albany. Mr. Decker predeceased her on March 3, 1986. Mrs. Decker was employed many years ago at the Daniel Green Shoe Company of Dolgeville, and while residing in the Albany area she was employed by an advertising company. The couple moved back to Dolgeville in 1968 after they retired. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dolgeville and the United Methodist Women Club, and a member of the Auskerada-Maquaes-Rock City Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #204. She personally enjoyed baking, cooking and was an avid reader, along with belonging to several card clubs in the Dolgeville area. She is survived by her Son and his wife Robert and Helen Decker of Dolgeville, a Granddaughter and her husband Susan and William Thomas of Binghamton, a Grandson and his wife David and Wendy Decker of Warrensburg, her Great Grandsons Jason, Christopher, Daniel and Henry. Also a Niece and great Nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 27, 2005 at 1PM at the United Methodist Church on Helmer Avenue Dolgeville. The Rev. Dr. Jeff Losey, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dolgeville Cemetery. There are NO CALLING HOURS. Memorials maybe made to the United Methodist Church memorial fund in her memory. Envelopes will be available at the service on Saturday. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville, NY.
