Mrs. Dorothy M. Delwo, age 89, of 813 Jeffery Street, Herkimer, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Medical Center on Sunday, July 24, 2005. She was born on May 19, 1916 in Tyvan, Saskatchewan, Canada, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Jane Sanderson and was educated at Silver Valley Saskatchewan Public School. Dorothy was united in marriage with Henry Delwo on December 21, 1933 in Regina, Saskatchewan at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Koenan, pastor officiating. They were blessed with 71 years together. Throughout their marriage, Dorothy and Henry lived in several areas including Utica in the 1950's and 1960's and lastly settling in Herkimer in 1979 until the present time. Dorothy spent her life caring for her husband and children. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer, NY. Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband, Henry at home; one son, Wayne Delwo and his wife, Gloria of Herkimer; one daughter, Bonnie Hyde and her husband, Jim of Clinton; four grandchildren, Heather Dursi and her husband, Riccardo of Rome, NY, James Hyde and his wife, Elegia of Clinton, NY, Kris Kelly and her husband, Matthew of West Harrison, NY, and Traci Roberto and her husband, Joseph of Loudonville, NY; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Abigail, Olivia, Conner, Katie, and Jack; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Delwo and her brothers and sisters. The family invites relatives and friends to visitation at the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. Her funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Thursday morning, July 28, 2005 from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am from St. Frances deSales Church, Herkimer with the Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor officiating.
