Obituary of Frank Deneski
Mr. Frank J. Deneski, 83, a lifelong Little Falls resident, and for the past eight years a resident of the Masonic Care Community in Utica, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Saturday evening, February 5, 2005 in that facility. Mr. Deneski was born on April 2, 1921 in Little Falls Hospital, a son of the late Peter and Helen (Babrowicz) Deneski and received his education in Little Falls schools. He was united in marriage with Louis Hammond on August 24, 1946 and together shared a blessed union of love, support and a lifetime of family nurturing. Mr. Deneski was a World War II veteran, enlisting on September 28, 1942 and was honorably discharged on November 1, 1945 holding the rank of Technician, Fifth Grade, three years of heroic service. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and the American Campaign Medal. Throughout his life Mr. Deneski owned and operated several local businesses including Dee Dee's Restaurant in Dolgeville; Drake's Bakery and Restaurant in Little Falls; and the Globe Hotel in Little Falls, which he operated until being displaced by Urban Renewal in the early 1970's. He also at one time owned and operated a Jukebox and Pinball machine business that serviced the Mohawk Valley and began his career as a salesman for the Kraft Foods Company. He was last employed as a Plater by Bendix of Utica, retiring in 1984. Mr. Deneski was a longtime member of the Little Falls American Legion Post#31 and the Little Falls V.F.W. Post #4612 He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and more recently Holy Family Parish of Little Falls. Most importantly, Frank was a loving, supportive and unconditionally giving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He believed there was no such thing in life as an unimportant day. For his family, they believed that when Frank was born, he cried and the world rejoiced but he lived his life in a way that when he died, the world cried and he rejoiced. He is survived by his beloved wife Louise of Little Falls, three loving children, Rosemary Scholl and husband George of Hatboro, PA, Cindy Parisse and husband Michael of Bluebell, PA, and Richard Deneski of Willow Grove, PA.; his beloved grandchildren, Tina (Scholl) Beniquez and husband Walter, Ted Scholl and wife Melinda, Lauren Sampson and Scott Sampson; great grandchildren: Kelsey Steilen, Janson Scholl and Sabrina Beniquez. He also leaves a devoted son in law, Peter Wolf of Savannah, GA and a cousin Stanley Babrowicz and wife Fran of Utica. Frank was predeceased by a third daughter, Dee Dee (Deneski) Wolf in 1997. The Deneski family will be present at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, to receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m on Monday (this evening), February 7, 2005. Frank's funeral will commence at 8:15 am on Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, from the chapel of the funeral home where a prayer service will be held. His mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am from Holy Family Parish (corner of E. Main and John Streets) Little Falls, with the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, officiating. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery where he will be laid to rest and full military honors will be accorded by the United States Army. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Masonic Home. For your convenience, envelopes are available at the funeral home. Members of the Little Falls American Legion are asked to gather at the Enea Family Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. on Monday to conduct their service.
