Obituary of Alice DeWolfe

Alice R. DeWolfe, 88 of 31 S. Main St., Middleville, NY and a long time South Glens Falls resident, passed away on Friday October 7, 2005 at her home. She was born February 9, 1917 in Watertown, NY, the daughter of the late George B. & Sarah M. (Mattison) Hepburn. Alice was a graduate of Watertown High School, class of 1934, and furthered her educated by attending a Business School. Her marriage to Frederick G. DeWolfe took place in 1939. The couple shared a blessed union of 56 years together until the passing of Mr. DeWolfe in January of 1995. At one time along with her husband they owned and operated DeWolfe's Music House in Glens Falls. Mrs. DeWolfe was a member of the Fist Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, and was an honorary member of the Glens Falls Kiwanis Club. With family as her foremost priority, Alice proved her self a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her leisure she enjoyed sewing and gardening. Survivors include her 4 daughters, Linda R. Fox and her husband Craig of Middleville, Sandra Lee Toomer and her husband Allan of Wrightsville, N.C., Andrea K. Scofield and her husband Frank of Northborough, Mass., and Janice E. Reed and her husband Donald of Wiesbaden, Germany, 5 grandchildren, Nicole A. Fox, Noelle A. Nuzzy and her husband John, Marilyn C. Reed, Jason B. Reed, & Scott A. Toomer and his wife Carla, a great granddaughter, Carson Grace Toomer and many nieces, nephews & cousins. She was pre-deceased by 2 brothers, Homer Franklin & George B. Hepburn. Memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family in Glens Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY.
