Obituary of Phyllis Dolly

Mrs. Phyllis Jackson Dolly, 70, of Eastern Garden Apartments, Herkimer, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital, with her family by her side. Phyllis was born on February 5, 1935 in Salisbury, NY, a daughter of the late Howard and Edith (Briggs) Metz. She was educated in Little Falls Schools. She was once married to Donald Jackson and later married to David Dolly. She was employed by the Herkimer Motel where she worked for several years.Phyllis was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a woman who committed all her energy, all her ability and all her being to her family and her home. Phyllis was always placing the needs and wants of her children and grandchildren before her own. She will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her nine loving children, Donald Jackson and his wife Mary of Richfield Springs, Robyn Leon and her husband Charles of Herkimer, Brian Jackson and his wife Shirley of Little Falls, Kevin Jackson and his wife Kathy of Little Falls, Edie Twitchell and her husband Rob of Ilion, Phyllis Briggs and her husband Dan of Herkimer, Shannon Ray and her fianc?e Dan Guyer of Mohawk, Jamie Jackson and his wife Kimberly of Ilion, and Dave Dolly and his wife Rachel of Schuyler; a brother, Ronald Metz and his wife Joan of Inghams Mills; two sisters, Lorraine Viola and her husband Sonny of Ohio, and Janeth Thomas and her husband Thomas of Chicago, IL; several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Bill Metz. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2005, at the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer. Her funeral will commence at 12 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2005 from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Wrightson Tongue, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Herkimer/Little Falls. Procession will follow to Middleville Cemetery where Phyllis will be laid to rest.
