Obituary of Bertha Ellis

Bertha L. "Beth" Ellis, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 1, 2005 at the home of her son Kevin Ellis in Dallas, Georgia. She was born December 1, 1930 in Greig, NY the daughter of the late Kolman & Sophia (Dudas) Ernye. Beth attended schools in Glenfield and Dolgeville. Her marriage to Gordon Ellis, Jr. took place on November 20, 1948 in Dolgeville. The couple shared a blessed union of 56 years. Mrs. Ellis was last employed by Gehring Textiles in Dolgeville. Beth was of the Protestant Faith. As everyone knew, Beth's main concern was being a wife, mother and grandmother, later in life a great grandmother which she was so proud of. Survivors include her husband Gordon, a daughter Cheryl Toher and husband John of Dolgeville, her sons Terry Ellis and wife Marianne of Dolgeville, & Kevin Ellis and wife Linda of Dallas, Georgia. Her beloved grandchildren Kimberly Pierce and husband Jim of Dogleville, Kelly Baird and husband Bruce of Dogleville, Katrina Ellis of New York City, and Christopher and Meghan Ellis of Dallas, Georgia. Her great grandchildren Katie & James Pierce and Kelcie & Jacob Baird, her sister Zaida Valik and husband Paul of Utica, a brother-in-law Allan Joeckler of Utica, and Richard Ernye and wife Carol of Dolgeville, her sister-in-law Esther Ellis, Arlene Ellis and Kathryne Erney all of Dolgeville, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister Margaret Zoeckler and 2 brothers Andrew Erney and Steven Ernye. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 5, 2005 at 11:00 am from the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY with Pastor Carl Evans, of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Falls officiating. Interment will follow at Dolgeville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday August 4, 2004 from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contributions to the Van Allen Nursing Home Resident Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
