Obituary of Elisa Fantera

Elisa F. Fantera, 94 a long time Little Falls resident, passed away on Saturday February 5, 2005 at Little Falls Hospital. She was born March 21, 1910 in Tuscany, Italy the daughter of the late Antonio & Italia (Cinquanta) Taverni, and was educated in Little Falls schools. Her marriage to Galliano Fantera took place in 1928. Mr. Fantera passed away in November of 1982. Mrs. Fantera was last employed at the former Allegro Shoe Company in Little Falls and was a member of the Holy Family Parish. As a loving and caring mother and grandmother, Elisa took much pride in preparing and cooking meals for her family. In her leisure she enjoyed knitting and crotcheting. Survivors inlcue a daughter; Aurelia DePalma of Utica, 2 sons; Italo (Buddy) Fantera of Holland Patent & Daniel Fantera of Rome, 2 brothers; Ugo Taverni and wife Marie of Little Falls & Bernard "Mims" Taverni and wife Angela of Little Falls, a sister; Bernice Valent of Herkimer, 5 grandchildren; Edward & Mary DePalma of Whitesboro, Eric DePalma of Vermont, Sharon Fantera of Astoria, NY, John & Deborah Fantera-Fontillas of Brooklyn, and David Fantera of Michigan, 2 great grandchildren; Danielle & Eddie Fantera, and several nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased bya son; Rudolph Fantera in 1941 and a brother; Guido (Jerry) Taverni, a son-in-law; Edward DePalma and a sister-in-law; Paulette Fantera. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 8, 2005 at 10:30 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY and at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, with Revenend Anthony Ligato, pastor celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday February 7, 2005 from 6 to 8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family Parish or to the Little Falls Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
