Dorothy E. (Oviatt) Foster, 74, an Ilion native, most recently of Galinsky Apt.s and Folts Homes, passed away this morning in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. She was born on February 28, 1931 in Ilion a daughter of the late James and Lillian Oviatt and was educated in Ilion schools. She was last employed by the Folts Homes, Herkimer and was of the Baptist Faith. A beloved mother, grandmother and sister, she will be dearly missed by her loved ones. Survivors include a son, Robert E. Foster, Jr. and wife Patricia of Ilion; two sisters: Gladys White of Ilion and Lillian Rose and husband Edward of Cedarville; two grandchildren: Robert E. Foster, III and special friend Jenn Caleo of Ilion and Lori Poehler and husband Matthew of Dolgeville; three great grandchildren: Makayla, Desarae and Hailey; several nieces and nephews and a special aunt: Ruth Riddell of Ilion. She was predeceased by two sisters: Ruth Stanley and Alice Beach. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Ilion and Frankfort (894-8000) on Wed., May 11, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. Dorothy's funeral will commence at 11 am on Thurs., May 12, from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Smith, pastor of the Ilion Baptist Church, officiating. Funeral procession will follow to Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion, where she will be laid to rest.
