John A. Gardner, Sr., 62 of Sherwood Acres, Herkimer, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2005. He was born December 4, 1942 in Danville, Virginia, the son of Gladys (Houghton) Gardner Aubuchon and the late James Gardner. John was a graduate of Short Hills High School in New Jersey, and Curry College in Milton, Mass. His marriage to Betty Duda took place on October 11, 1975 in Mt. Carmel, NY. Mr. Gardner was last employed at Gehring Tricot in Dolgeville, NY. Survivors include his mother Gladys of North Carolina, his wife Betty of Herkimer, a son, John A. Gardner, Jr., of Dolgeville, a daughter, Kelly Gardner of Little Falls, 2 brothers, William Gardner and his wife Maruta of SanDiego, California & James Gardner and his wife Bertha of DeVine, Texas. In keeping with John's wishes funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY.
