Obituary of Evelyn Gilman-Fallis

Mrs. Evelyn E. Gilman-Fallis, age 88, of 759 E. Monroe St., (Falls Courts Apts.) and of Fairfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday evening, December 22, 2005 in Little Falls Hospital. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Little Falls on May 3, 1917, a daughter of the late Harry and Minnie (Mosinteen) Harrad and was educated in Fairfield schools. Her first marriage to Robert R. Gilman took place on February 21, 1937. Mr. Gilman passed away on August 7, 1968. She was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Fallis on July 19, 1969. He passed away on September 28, 1975. Evelyn was employed by the former Allegro Shoe Company, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. As a woman who was deeply dedicated to her loved ones, Evelyn was a wonderful and exemplary wife, mother and grandmother. She graciously shared her generous nature and her loving heart with her family and friends. Survivors include two sons: Robert H. Gilman and wife Dorothy of Waldorf, MD and William P. Gilman and wife Mary of Fairfield; a daughter: Evelyn Margo of Little Falls, a sister: June Garlock of Middleville; her cherished grandchildren: Christine Howell and husband Bryan, Bobbi Rogers, Jeffrey Gilman and wife Bonnie, Robin Budwee and husband Rick, Patricia Hall and husband Derek, Robert Gilman, Jr., and wife Maria, Tony Jacobs and wife Alisa, Lonnie Chapman, Kellie Frost, Shannon Hansleman and husband Glenn, Heather Gilman and Brian Swartz, Larry Austin, Jr. and wife Corinna, Craig Austin and wife Judy, Bryan Austin and wife Terry, Sheri Stallman and husband Donald Stallman, Jr.; many special great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving is a special friend: Jeanette DePietro She was predeceased by a daughter: Joann Marie Gilman, a step-son: Teddy Mike Fallis; a sister: Betty Whitney; and by two brothers: Robert and Doug Harrad. Evelyn's family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to Dr. Freund and to the nurses and staff at Little Falls Hospital especially those on the third floor who offered wonderful care and encouragement. The family will receive relatives and friends TODAY, December 23, 2005 from 4-7 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. Evelyn's funeral will be held at the conclusion of calling hours (7 p.m.) in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Noble, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, Little Falls, officiating. She will be laid to rest next spring in Fairfield Cemetery.
