Obituary of Florentine Hudson

Florentine Hudson, 91 of 1420 Wagners Hollow Road, St. Johnsville, passed away on Tuesday October 18, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, NY. She was born July 31, 1914 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Ralph & Sybille (Paddock) Dineen, and was educated in Little Falls schools. Her marriage to Paul W. Hudson took place on November 4, 1933 in Fort Plain. The couple shared a blessed union of 66 years until the passing of Mr. Hudson on September 2, 1999. At one time Florentine was employed at Beech-nut. Mrs. Hudson was a member of the St. Johnsville United Methodist Church. Florentine was also a member of the former Nowodoga Grange, the former Royal Neighbors, the Tri- County & Old Timers Power Assoc. & Coon - Hollow Gas Engine Club. With family as her foremost priority, Florentine proved herself a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her leisure she enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting. Survivors include 2 sons, Robert Hudson and his wife Joan of Fort Plain, & Ronald Hudson of St. Johnsville, 2 half brothers, Lloyd Dineen and his wife Edith of Dolgeville, & Jim Dineen of Dolgeville, 4 grandchildren, Bernard Hudson and Cindi Bergen of Fort Plain, Robert & Cindy Hudson of Dolgeville, Lorraine & John Dobrovolc of Little Falls, & Deborah & John Lojba of Little Falls, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, and in-laws, Inez Hadcock of Palatine Bridge, Harry Smith and wife Mary of Little Falls, and Helen Dineen of Little Falls. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Betty Johnson, and 4 brothers, John, Ralph, & Leonard Dineen and Bill Walker and a sister-in-law, Louise Dineen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 22, 2005 at 11:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY with Reverend R.W. Williams, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Fordsbush, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday October 21, 2005 from 5-8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department, S.A.V.A.C. of Mountain Valley Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
