Obituary of Ellen Hunt

Ellen M. Hunt, 64, of State Route 5S, Mohawk, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, St. Luke's Campus, New Hartford. She was born Sept. 18, 1940, in the town of Frankfort, the daughter of George and Marie (Farley) Desgrosielliers and attended Annunciation School in Ilion. On Aug. 15, 1959, she was married to William B. Hunt Jr. in the Paines Hollow Church. At one time Ellen was employed as a cafeteria worker at the Mohawk High School. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, arts and crafts, search words, crossword puzzles and glass collectibles. Survivors include her husband, William "Bill;" three sons, William B. Hunt III and his wife Susan, Ronald A. Hunt and his wife Shari and Randel S. Hunt Sr. and his wife Dawn, all of Mohawk; 11 grandchildren, Kristin, Amanda, Courtney, Alexandra, Jacquelyn, Hayley, Zachary, Emily, Randel Jr., Ryan and Kaylee; one great-granddaughter, Olivia; her sister, Carol Helmer and her husband Robert of Florida; her brother, Louis Desgrosielliers and his wife Katherine of the town of Columbia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her dog, Coco. She was predeceased by her mother, father and her brother, George Desgrosielliers. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Applegate and Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Kenneth Palmer, elder of the Mohawk Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will be in Mohawk Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Ellen's family has entrusted all funeral and burial arrangements and supervision to Don Applegate of the Applegate and Day Funeral Home in Ilion.
