Mrs. Emily Y. James 84 of 66 West State Street Dolgeville, died Friday September 16, 2005 in Little Falls Hospital. She was born in Dolgeville, on January 8, 1921 the daughter of Ernest B. and Bertha (Quant) Young and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1938. Her marriage to Malcolm G. James took place on March 13, 1948 in the First Presbyterian Church manse with Dr. Ernest J. Houghton, officiating. Emily held various positions within the Herkimer County Clerk's Office and then with the First National bank of Dolgeville. She also worked for the Harry J. Hopson Insurance Agency of Dolgeville, and retired from the office of the Daniel Green Company several years ago. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church of Dolgeville, where she sang in the choir for over 20 years and was superintendent of the Sunday school program. Surviving is her husband Malcolm of 57 years, her sons and their wives David and Barbara James of Clifton Park, NY and Douglas and Katrina James of Mesa, Arizona, several N & N. In keeping with her wishes she has made an anatomical gift of her body to the Anatomical Gift Program of Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. There are no calling hours or services at this time. Her cremains will be interred in the Dolgeville Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made in her memory to the United Lutheran - Presbyterian Church Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
