Obituary of Edwin Kopp

Edwin F. Kopp, 88, of Melrose, Florida and formerly a long time Dolgeville resident, passed away on Tuesday May 10, 2005 at his home. He was born October 15, 1916 in Dolgeville the son of the late Julius & Meta (Petrikari) Kopp and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1935. His marriage to Elizabeth Jakubec took place on September 2, 1939 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dolgeville by Reverend F.K. Riebesell. Mr. Kopp was a World War II Navy veteran, enlisting on December 27, 1943 and was honorably discharged on January 5, 1946 with the rank of Aviation Ordnanceman (T) Second Class. Edwin was last employed at the former Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville where he held the position of Foreman. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Dolgeville and the American Legion Herman Schumacher Post # 921. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth, 2 sons, Reverend Edwin R. Kopp and wife Brenda of Dolgeville, & Frederick J. Kopp and wife Sandra of Blairsville, GA., a daughter, Sally Ann Kopp of Melrose, Florida, and several cousins. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Richard Kopp who was killed while serving his country in the United States Air Force. In keeping with Edwin?s wishes funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY.
