Obituary of Leandra Lassell

Leandra" Lea" Lassell, 55 of 3005 State Route 5s passed away on Wednesday August 3, 2005 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born February 23, 1950 in Amsterdam, NY the daughter of Chester Gudlewski and the late Lillian Kiskis Gudlewski, and was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, class of 1968. Lea graduated from St. Rose College in 1972. Her marriage to Daniel Lassell took place on July 8, 1972 at St. James Church in Fort Plain. Mrs. Lassell was last employed at Host Marriot Restaurants (Indian Castle Thruway) where she held the position of cashier. Lea was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Fort Plain, and was an active leader of the Foothills Girl Scouts Council for 25 years. With family as her foremost priority, Lea proved herself a loving and caring wife and mother. Survivors include her father Chester of Fort Plain, her loving husband of 33 years, Daniel, 2 daughters, Allison Lassell of Little Falls, and Meredith Lassell of Little Falls, a brother, Larry Gudlewski of Iowa, her in-laws, William and Ella Lassell of Canajoharie, Helen Lassell of Johnstown, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. She was pre-deceased by a brother-in-law Charles Lassell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 6, 2005 at 12:00 noon from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY and at 1:00 pm from St. James Church in Fort Plain, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Kenneth Swain, pastor. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday August 5, 2005 from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to the Bassett Hospital Cancer Center or Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
