Little Falls-Mrs. Josephine M. (Miklave) "Pep" Laubenstein, 91, a lifelong Little Falls resident passed away on Tuesday evening, August 2, 2005. She was born on April 15, 1914 in Little Falls, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Purnat) Miklave and was educated at St. Mary's Academy. In 1943, she was united in marriage with William F. Laubenstein with whom she shared a blessed union of 62 years. Josephine was last employed by the City of Little Falls as secretary of the city treasury. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. Survivors include her beloved husband William of Little Falls; four loving children: Mary Shea and husband Robert of Bloomfield, NY, Richard Laubenstein and wife Mary of Jamesville, NY, Marcia Perry and husband DeWayne of Centennial, Colorado and Joseph Laubenstein and wife Sue of Conroe, TX; two sisters: Evelyn Rumin of Little Falls and Tina Novogurski of Dolgeville; nine cherished grandchildren: Jeff Laubenstein, Shannon Smart, Amy Laubenstein, Aaron Perry, Carly Smart, Ethan Perry, Michael Perry, Jason Laubenstein, Amanda Laubenstein; three adored great grandchildren: Osha Chesnutt-Perry, Hunter Chesnutt-Perry and Kaitlyn Laubenstein. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews. Josephine's three brothers: Frank, Joseph and Stanley Miklave preceded her in death. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, Friday evening, August 5, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. Mrs. Laubenstein's funeral will commence at 11:15 am on Saturday morning, August 6, from the chapel of the funeral home and 12 noon from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls with her pastor, the Rev. Anthony Ligato, officiating. Funeral procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest in the family plot. Memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association. For your convenience, envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home. Josephine's life revolved around her family, and she considered her children and their families to be the most important part of her life. Bestowing upon them her unconditional love and steadfast loyalty, she was dedicated to keeping her loved ones secure and the family together. As a grandmother, she truly enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. Her attentive concern was always extended to her loved ones in her family circle and she will be dearly missed by all.
